2005-05-19: UPDATE

Over 60 new domains added to the list! These are mostly new affiliates, that joined after the last removal of bad affiliates, plus a couple we didn't catch last time. Thank you! We could not have found them all without your help, thanks again for reporting them!

Dear surfers!

Has your computer been hijacked or taken over by spyware? Are you confident that the person responsible for it is a Coolwebsearch affiliate? If you have answered yes to both of these questions, then we think we can help you.

Give us the domain name, and the proof of the hijacking, or unsolicited take over of your browser (as proof, we would need screenshots, as well as the source code of the webpage placed on your computer), and we will close down the offender's account without payment!

These kinds of activities are firmly against our rules. Did anybody tell you differently? Perhaps you have read an article somewhere blaming Coolwebsearch for everything wrong with the world short of world hunger? Then read on!

You will be shocked to find out that 95% of all so called "CWS hijacks" have NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with Coolwebsearch. These people have never worked with us, and never will.
We have never condoned the use of "hijacks" or "exploits". Unfortunately, due to carefully orchestrated framing and smear campaigns of unethical competitors, who even to this day are distributing spyware and calling them "CWS hijacks", our good name has been severely damaged.

Yes, it's really that simple to destroy someone's reputation on the internet, all you have to do is to pretend to be them and do something bad. Like, for example, if someone sent spam from your email address, your internet account would most likely be closed, and it's EXTREMELY simple to do. And what would happen if that same person, rather than using regular spam content, spammed 1000000 people (which is again very easy to do) with images or content of illegal nature, and with your email address as the source? You could even go to prison! AND ANYONE CAN DO IT! This is how scary the reality is!
Any one of your enemies, or an unscrupulous competitor, can literally destroy your life with a simple emailing program!

We have been very patient, hoping the situation would resolve itself, but instead, it just kept getting worst and worst. More and more new “hijacks” appeared, all called "CWS hijacks", even though 99.5% of these webmasters have never ever worked for us, knowing that we don't allow such methods of content delivery and traffic generation.
Nevertheless, the dishonest competitors have continued their work of malicious defamation and of using Coolwebsearch as a scapegoat for their own illegal activities.

Yes, life was never intended to be fair, but enough is enough. From now on, we are taking an aggressive stand to clear our good name, and to regain the trust of our potential clients and partners, which has so thoroughly been destroyed by the carefully orchestrated, and horrible slander campaign, which has been directed against our sites, our company, and even our most loyal affiliates, who have never participated in such acts, to be labeled "hijackers" just the same, simply because they work with our company.

To this effect, we would like to make our official policy on the subject of spyware and hijacking as clear as we possibly can:

Coolwebsearch does not condone the use of hijacks, spyware or other behavior, that involves the installation of programs on users' computers without their prior knowledge, AND explicit consent.

There will not be any exceptions to the policy above. Any violators will be punished, and their accounts closed, as soon as the burden of proof is met.

Please help us shut down those who abuse your computers, and our trust! Report a hijacker today!

We will be listing the domains of the webmasters whose accounts we have closed due to your input on this page, so come back often, you won't be disappointed.

Sincerely, Coolwebsearch Administration.
