Traffic

Traffic from what countries do you accept?

We can accept traffic from any country, but search results won’t be generated for all countries. Traffic originated from China, Japan, Russia, as well as from the countries of Eastern Europe, most probably won’t convert and, subsequently, won’t be paid for. Try to avoid sending us non-productive traffic. Below you can see some sample nets of highly unproductive traffic:
61. 202. 203. 210. 211. 218. 219. 220.

I’ve got a great amount of traffic. Will your system be able to handle it technically and financially?

Yes. Technically, and especially financially, are able to handle a very considerable traffic volume. On the other hand, it would be nice if you could notify us a couple of days in advance.

Bids

How often do the bids change?

Bids change constantly, it’s a non-stop and unpredictable process. Bids are not static, their amount keep changing depending on the bids made by advertisers all over the world for a particular keyword and for a particular position of their websites in the search results list. Bids are also influences by seasonal fluctuations caused by general fluctuations in the sales and demand of certain products. We recommend that you watch the bids constantly in order to stay updated.

Do search results depend on the geographical location of the surfer? Does the bid amount depend on the surfer’s geographical location?

Yes, bids depend directly on geographical factors. We generate different search results for different countries. Moreover, even bid amounts for the same keyword will be different. This happens because advertisers from different countries represent different advertising traditions. Consequently, prices they are willing to pay for traffic will vary in different countries.

Do you compile a list of the highest bids?

We do not compile such a list and are not planning on doing so in the near future. However, in the Global Clicks Stats section we provide our server-wide information on cost-per-clicks for all searches. There is also a “Click Stats” section in your personal statistics where you can get information about the clicks generated by your own traffic. Please, notice that the terms “cost-per-click” and “bid amount” are not the same. Explanation on how they differ you can find here.

Where can I find and check the bids for keywords?

You can check the bids on the Coolwebsearh search engine result pages. The bids are indicated on the search results page after the description of each site in the listing (this is a price for click which sends the surfer to that site). Please, remember that this is a 100% of a bid. Your personal statistics, however, indicates cost-per-click already estimated according to your share (considering that your surfer clicked on that link). When checking the bids on CWS, please keep in mid that bid amounts in the search listing are determined for the surfers from YOUR country. In order to check the bids for other countries, you can use proxy servers from those countries.

Related Searches: why don’t they always get displayed?

Related Searches usually don’t display for the keywords related to adult keywords. We are currently working on this situation. At the moment, however, our system works only in this way.

I’ve got my own website and need to buy some traffic. Can I buy traffic from you? (In other words, can I become your advertiser)?

We are currently only buying traffic, not selling it. We are planning on adding this function in the nearest future.

Promotion

Are there any limitations on using pop-unders, consoles and exit-consoles?

If you are using consoles, it is prohibited to show the surfer search results directly, i.e. for a keyword which was previously selected by yourself and never clicked by the user. The console can only display a list of at least 3 keywords, which you surfer must be clicking personally in order to get the search results for these keywords. Some webmasters may argue that the surfer still clicks on the search results personally. This is not true, because we credit our webmasters for the second click only. This means, that the surfer must first select a keyword for searching and then click on it. The only exclusion from this rule is for the traffic coming from major search engines like Google. (ñì. see details).

Is it allowed to promise the surfer any bonuses for clicking the links?

It is strictly forbidden to encourage your surfers to make the clicks in any way whatsoever, nor it is allowed to pay your surfers for clicking. Also, you are not allowed to place just one single link on your webpage, thus denying your surfer any choice. And of course, it is forbidden to display search results pages when your surfer did not make any clicks (i.e. without any request from the surfer)

Can I place non-adult links on the pages with adult content?

You should not mix non-adult links with adult content (images). For example, you can not place financial keywords on the page, containing adult information. However, keywords like Viagra, which are not considered to be adult keywords, but are closely related to the topic, can still be placed on such page. Your choice of words, as well as your own judgment, should be influenced by the possible reaction from the advertisers should they see their keywords on your page next to adult content. It is especially important not to mix the keywords on the pages containing lists of advertisers’ websites, i.e. search results pages. Advertisers tend to check these pages very frequently. This especially applies to our webmasters, who use our integrated search feed, because of the flexibility they have to customize the way their search results display. And, of course, it is strictly prohibited to use any kind of adult content, even links, on those pages that your surfers install as their home pages.

Can I save search results for certain keywords, so I could provide faster delivery of these results to my surfers when they search by the same keyword? This may also help me to save on bandwidth.

Saving of search results on your server for any period of time for further use we call caching. We strictly forbid caching. Here are the reasons why we do so. Bid amounts for all keywords are generated on the basis of the auction. For example, Let’s assume that an advertiser decided to buy 100 clicks for 50 cents per click. You cached this result. At any period of time these 100 clicks can run out and you’ll be sending your 101st, 102nd and nobody knows how many else of your further clicks to this advertiser for FREE. You are not going to be paid for these clicks, and the only one to benefit will be the advertiser who gets your free traffic. Another reason is geographic orientation of search results. If you cache results by your server as a search result, you’ll get a group of websites for the geography of that country, where your server is actually located. If then you are going to show these results to the surfers from different countries, you traffic will simply not convert. So, it is in your best interests to send each search request to our server instead of caching search results.

Do you allow to use blind links?

We do not allow our webmasters to use blind links under any circumstances. We consider such links as deceiving and misleading the surfer.

Can I combine text links and image links when sending my surfers to you?

Yes, but on that condition that you are not using blind links. For example, if you use text link for “Viagra”, you can illustrate this link with an image of a bottle of pills, where the image should be linked to “Viagra” as well. Illustrating text links proved to be very productive. It increases clickability of the link and brings good results.

Which keywords work better for sending traffic – rarely searched but with higher bids, or very popular but with lower bids?

This is up to you to work out your own strategy, but we personally prefer the strategy of sending traffic to the more popular, rather than to the more expensive keywords. Usually the overall return is higher for the keywords that are popular and that everybody searches by. In order to find correct terms, you should pay attention to the structure and specific features of your own traffic, to it’s seasonal fluctuations, to the events happening in the world, etc. You should find your own strategy, whatever it is that works best for you.

I’ve got traffic from major search engines like Google. Can I send it to you avoiding “second click”, so that I would not be loosing visitors on it?

If you are planning to send us this kind of traffic, please contact our support team in order to discuss possibilities of sending your traffic from “one click”. We evaluate cases like this on individual basis and require to provide us with solid proof that your traffic is in fact generated by a search engine.

What is Co-branded Solution and Feed?

Our search feed gives you a possibility of having your own search engine that uses our search results as a raw data stream. It allows you to implement your own design concepts, thus making a connection between us and your search engine virtually transparent. We have also created a special script for parsing the feed. This script can be installed on a php-running server. All enquiries regarding our feed and script should be addressed via-email to paulla@bellnet.com.

Can I use your script for sending traffic to other affiliate programs?

It is strictly prohibited to use our script anywhere outside of our Affiliate Program. This script is subject to copyright and any unauthorized use will be considered illegal. Accounts of those webmasters who use our script wrongfully will be immediately closed.

Can I use keyword rotators?

Yes, you can. Keyword rotation represents one of the ways to optimize the process in order to achieve better results. The most important thing to keep in mind here, though, is not to use caching and blind links. It is useful to analyze clicks for certain keywords so you could make the most effective selection of keywords for your traffic.

In “Click Stats” section you use the term “Average bid price”. Is it the same as “Bid”?

No, “Average bid price” is not a bid. This is the amount of money made on a keyword divided by the number of clicks for this keyword. Why can’t we give just pure bids? Because for real traffic with mixed geographic picture, bids will be different for clicks from different countries. Another important thing is that, since search results are presented to the surfer as a listing, where each position has it’s unique bid that differs from bids for other positions, and since surfers click on different positions in the listing, it is virtually impossible to talk about any fixed, or unique, bid amount in this context. Thus, we can only provide you with average values. Therefore, your stats show an AVERAGE bid price for a particular keyword estimated on the basis of all clicked positions in the search results listing. Therefore, this is not a maximum bid for a keyword, as some may think. This is, actually, the reaso! n why the bid amount shown by the search engine in it’s listing differs from the actual figure you see in your stats. Please, don’t forget to take this factor into consideration when doing your keywords research.

Daily reset: why certain amount of clicks disappears when moving to the next day?

We provide real-time stats, which get updated every 15 minutes. This statistical information helps our webmasters evaluate their website data and make appropriate adjustments, when necessary. This real-time stats show the clicks, where all non-valid and abnormal clicks have already been discarded, except for the clicks from hitbots and SE spiders. Daily resets occur at 00:00 Eastern Time. At this moment the system discards the rest of the abnormal clicks, i.e. the ones from hitbots and spiders. Please note, that for those IPs that click more than 25 times a day, only first 25 clicks will be counted. In the future, we plan to provide you with extended information on non-valid hits, so you could try to avoid such situations or, at least, diminish their influence on the results. It is impossible to predict how many hits are going to be discarded. You should understand, however, that percentage of non-valid hit! s serves as an indicator of the quality of your traffic. The more non-valid hits you get, the sooner you should check your traffic sources and, possibly, discontinue the use of some of them in order to improve your traffic quality.

Why does statistical information differ in various Stats sections?

Various Stats sections show your results from different angles. For example, Payment Status shows statistics which we use for calculating your money. It contains “pure” results, “clarified” of all non-valid and abnormal hits. Global Click Stats is used for demonstration of trends and keyword/cost-per-click fluctuations on the entire server, whereas Click Stats shows the same data, but for your own traffic. This is the tool you should use to watch the tendencies. Once again, statistical information which we use for calculating your payments is located in Payment Stats and General Stats. The rest of the information is given to you “as is”, and is meant as a work/research tool only.

Why does information in General Stats and Payments Stats differ?

General Stats include all information up to the moment (i.e. for today as well), whereas Payment Stats do not include today’s information, thus ending by yesterday’s date. That’s why the numbers in Payment Stats are usually lower.
